Governor Hogan Not Considering Reinstating Statewide Mask Mandate
Governor Larry Hogan said during a press conference in Baltimore on Tuesday that he is not considering reinstating a mask mandate for the state.
In Maryland, over 75% of all people eligible for the vaccine have received at least one.
“We’re watching it very closely to see. We’re really pleased with where we are”, Hogan said, according to WTOP. “We’re not talking about reinstating a mask mandate.”
The City of Gaithersburg announced on Monday that they are reinstating the requirement for all staff and visitors to wear mask and socially distance while in city run facilities. Last night the City of Rockville followed suit– making face coverings mandatory for all visitors, effective immediately.
The Montgomery County Council. acting as the Board of Health, will meet on Thursday to discuss the possibility of reinstating the indoor mask mandate here in the county.
