Governor Larry Hogan plans to sign a bill later this week that will cover tuition at community colleges for qualifying in-state residents.
The bill will create a $15 million program that will provide scholarships (up to $5k) for students from families that earn less than $125k a year or single adults earning less than $90k a year.
Also necessary to qualify, students must:
• Enroll in a community college in Maryland within two years of graduating high school/obtaining a GED.
• Have a High School GPA of at least a 2.3
• Sign up for at least 12 credit hours
