Three years ago UU Hotpot and Kebab Giles for permits to open a restaurant at the Spectrum Town Center in Gaithersburg. For various reasons, that didn’t work out.
A few months back Baltimore-based hotpot restaurant Hot Pot Hero took over the location and has made strides towards having the restaurant ready to open soon (no exact date yet, but I would expect it to open by the end of 2019, barring any unforeseen circumstances).
According to the Hot Pot Hero website, Hot Pot Hero is a full-service Hot Pot/Shabu Shabu restaurant serving featuring Chongqing Style HotPot/Shabu Shabu and Mongolian BBQ. The Hot Pot Hero experience includes the traditional table top set up for customers to cook their choices of sides in delicious hot pot broths, as well as, a full sports TV bar with all premium sports channels, and private party rooms with multi-language karaoke systems.
