Lone Oak and Carmen’s Team Up To Offer ‘TIPSY POPS’ Starting Friday at the Olney Brewery

Two local businesses have teamed up to create ‘TIPSY POPS’– a combination of popsicles made by Montgomery County frozen treat spot Carmen’s (Rockville/Olney) and alcoholic beverages (beers and seltzers) by Olney’s Lone Oak Brewery. The pops will be making their debut at Lone Oak Brewery on Friday, August 12th and will be available for customers 21 and up.

“We wanted to create a COOL collaboration with a great, long-standing local business – and chose Carmen’s for the fabulous products there,  as well as the owner’s (Jason Mandler) dedication to the community.” a representative from the brewery told us.

The pops will go for $7.99 and flavors will include:

• Deep Root Porter Chocolate Custard Pop (with a vanilla custard swirl)
• Layered Raspberry Seltzer Fruited Pop with raspberry purée
• Kiwi Me Away Sour Fruited Pop with chunks of refreshing kiwi
• Goldenrod Wheat Beer Orange Crushsicle (swirled with vanilla custard)

Carmen’s Italian Ice started when New Jersey native Jason Mandela wanted to introduce homemade gourmet Italian Ice to the Washington DC area. It has operated in Montgomery County for over 20 years, opening its Rockville location at 1115 Nelson St. in 2001. A second location opened in Olney in 2021 at the former Rita’s location at 3233 Spartan Rd.

Lone Oak was founded by Chris and Charlie Miller, who both graduated from Magruder High School, and partnered with Ralph and Ryan Mollet of Gaithersburg to bring you the brewery. It has been open since June 2020.
