Man Arrested for Solicitation of Minor After Driving to Meet With Girl He Thought Was 15-Years-Old

A 34-year-old Virginia man has been arrested and charged with sexual solicitation of a minor after he attempted to meet up with who he thought was a teenage girl.

On Thursday, August 11, 2022, Jose M. Jimenez of McLean, VA, initiated a conversation on a social media site with a Montgomery County Detective posing as a 15-year-old girl. The next day, Jimenez and the detective exchanged messages and phone numbers, eventually agreeing to meet in person. Jimenez asked the “girl” her age and continued to have sexually explicit text conversations with her.

On Wednesday, August 17, Jimenez arranged to meet with the girl and traveled from VA to Rockville. Before arriving at the meet-up location, Jimenez rented a motel room, and then drove to meet the girl at the pre-arranged location, where he was arrested by Montgomery County detectives. Jimenez was transported to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit, where he was held without bond. Following a bond review, he was released on an unsecured bond.

Detectives believe that there may be additional victims that were contacted by Jimenez and are urging anyone who believes themselves to be a victim or anyone with information to contact the Special Victims Investigations Division (SVID) at 240-773-5400 or contact Crime Solvers of Montgomery County toll-free at 1-866-411-TIPS(8477). Callers may remain anonymous.
