Jesus Guadalupe-Santaclaya is currently being held without bond after being arrested for bringing an AR-style rifle on to Gaithersburg High School property back on January 14.
The rifle was a privately made firearm (ghost gun.)
According to a report by WJLA, Gaithersburg HS Security noticed a parked BMW on school grounds around 6:50am the morning of 14th. When security approached the vehicle, the driver sped away and the vehicle ended up stuck at a dead end by the football field. Security then called 9-1-1.
When police officers arrived, Luque-Santaclaya was allegedly walking up the football stadium stairs with an AR-style rifle hanging around his neck. Officers then manager to disarm Luque-Santaclaya without incident and place him in under arrest.
According to Montgomery County State’s Attorney John McCarthy, Luque-Santaclaya was at the school after arranging to meet someone to sell the weapon to. The incident occurred before the other party arrived to purchase the gun.
