by MCS Staff

A man in his 20s fell approximately 25 feet down an escalator near the Dave and Buster’s entrance at Rio Lakefront in Gaithersburg around 11:05pm Saturday night, leaving him briefly unconscious.

Emergency services were called and medics transported him to a trauma center with serious, but non-life threatening injuries. As of now, there is no word on how the fall occurred.

This is the second local escalator fall in the last couple days, as Alan Henney reported a man falling down nearly the entire length of the escalator, approximately 75 feet, at the Dupont Circle Metro Station in DC on Friday afternoon. He was taken to a trauma center with serious, but non-life threatening injuries.
