Update: Montgomery County Police are saying that a Poolesville homeowner shot and killed an intruder on Monday morning.
WTOP reports that the man called 911 around 9am to report that someone was breaking into his home. Police spokeswoman Shira Goff said that gunshots were then heard during the 911 call and officers found a dead man inside the house when they arrived at the scene.
Around 11am this morning Montgomery County Police tweeted that they were investigating a shooting in the 18000 block of River Rd in Poolesville. Police said it was an isolated incident and Chief Spokesperson for Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Pete Piringer reported that MCFRS have cleared the scene.
