Montgomery County Public Schools were ranked second in the state in Niche’s 2018 Best School Districts in Maryland list www.niche.com/k12/search/best-school-districts/s/maryland/.
MCPS, the largest school district in the state, was ranked behind first place Howard County and ahead of third place Frederick County. Both Montgomery County and Howard County earned an ‘A’ in the category.
Though our public school system came in second overall, it ranked first in the following categories:
• Most Diverse (A+)
• Best Place to Teach (A)
• Best Teachers (A)
The county was given 10th place for ‘Safest’ (B+) and 4th for ‘Best For Athletes’ (A).
