MCPS Updates: Reevaluation of Return Plan Announced, Parent Preference Survey Deadline Extended
Today, MCPS released a community update to families, staff, and students.
Per the update, the Board of Education has asked MCPS to reevaluate its previously announced metrics for reopening and to explore a strategy that prioritizes the return of the youngest students sooner. It was announced today that they will make a final decision regarding this framework during their December 15 meeting.
The community update also reminds parents to complete the preference survey indicating whether they choose to have their student remain in a virtual learning model or have the opportunity for in-person learning experiences. The deadline for this survey has been extended to Monday, December 7.
According to this update, “If you do not complete the survey by December 7, your child will remain in the virtual-only learning model.”
