Midcounty Highway Closed Due to Collision Involving School Bus and Minivan; No Passengers on Board Bus

Updated to relflect that the minivan involved in the collision struck the bus.

Westbound Midcounty Highway is closed from Miller Fall Road to Washington Grove Lane as the result of a traffic collision, according to a tweet by Montgomery County Police. Drivers are advised to seek an alternate route and to expect significant delays. Chief Spokesperson for Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services Pete Piringer reports that the collision involved a minivan that struck (rear-ended) a school bus. Medevac was requested on scene due to injuries sustained by the occupant of the minivan. There were no passengers on the bus at the time of the accident. We will post an update when additional is avaialble.
