A Rockville resident won $500 & $50,000 scratch off prizes between December 31 and January 2nd. The winning tickets were purchased at the Shell station located at 4101 Randolph Road. Full story below courtesy of the Maryland Lottery:
“Some positive vibes helped a loyal Rockville player come up with two big scratch-off wins in three days of $500 and $50,000. The 49-year-old explained that his winning streak began when he purchased a scratch-off on Dec. 31 and won $500. Still feeling lucky, he dipped into those winnings and purchased a $20 $50,000 Cash instant ticket on Jan. 2.

When the Montgomery County resident looked at his scratch-off, he saw that he won again but this time his prize contained two more zeros. “I couldn’t believe it. I won back-to-back,” said the lucky player. “Winning $500 was amazing, but winning $50,000 was unbelievable.” The husband and father said he plans to use the money to pay off bills and to help other people. He is working more than 60 hours a week at a grocery so the extra money will help boost his finances.“Sometimes, when I get off of work, I have a feeling inside to buy a scratch-off,” he said “For both those wins, I had that feeling.” Colonial Shell at 4101 Randolph Road in Montgomery County also benefits from the winner’s Lottery luck. The Silver Spring gas station will receive a $500 bonus from the Lottery for selling a $50,000 top-prize winning instant ticket. The $50,000 Cash game went on sale Dec. 29 and the Rockville player was the game’s first top prize winner. There are still 159 top prizes remaining along with 168 $5,000 prizes and others ranging from $20 to $500.
