MoCo Spotlight: Master Firefighter April Conway

MoCo Spotlight: Master Firefighter April Conway

The fire alarm rang when there was smoke on the 17th floor of The Wisconsin condominiums on Nicholson Lane in Rockville this morning.

Firefighters arrived on the scene and located an overheated elevator motor as the culprit.

There were no injuries and everything was taken care of, but we were sent pictures of a firefighter on the scene taken by a very impressed community member.

“She hooked everything up by herself. Whoever she is, she did amazing!”

She is Master Firefighter, April Conway of FS723 (Twinbrook).

A master firefighter is someone who has reached a high level of training and experience within a particular specialty, such as rescue, dealing with hazardous materials, or driving and operating a fire pump.

Thank you for keeping us safe, April.

  1. Kudos to April !!! I know how hard this accomplishment is to achieve because my wife is one also, along with many other women FF in the county (both career and volunteer).
