Gaithersburg, MD – Over the course of several months, the Montgomery County Police Department has conducted an investigation regarding illegal activity in Brookeville.
As a result of the investigation, detectives conducted a search warrant on a home in the 21300 block of Denit Estates Drive. Inside the residence, Detectives discovered a large quantity of cocaine, several pounds of marijuana, other miscellaneous controlled dangerous substances and paraphernalia, and a large quantity of US Currency. Also located in the residence were ten firearms, nine of the which were privately manufactured firearms (PMF), commonly referred to as ghost guns, and a large quantity of ammunition.
During the search, an 11-year-old was located in close proximity to the firearms and drugs, which were not secured.
Detectives have charged Richard Jimenez, 31, of Brookeville, with multiple firearm and drug related charges.
This investigation was a coordinated effort of the Montgomery County Police under the Maryland Criminal Intelligence Network (MCIN). Governor Larry Hogan launched MCIN in 2017, and provides grant funding and strategic support through his office of Crime Prevention, Youth, and Victim Services to MCIN member sites to identify, disrupt, and dismantle criminal organizations through inter-agency collaboration and data sharing to make Maryland safer. The Governor’s Office of Crime Prevention, Youth, and Victim Services funded this project under subaward number, MCIN-2022-0018.
