Montgomery County Police Investigating Pedestrian Fatality in Gaithersburg

For Immediate Release: Tuesday, November 9, 2021

Gaithersburg, MD – Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – Collision Reconstruction Unit (CRU) are investigating a fatal collision involving a pedestrian in Gaithersburg.

At approximately 3 p.m., 6th District officers and Montgomery County Fire Rescue personnel responded to Fellowship Circle, inside the Asbury Methodist Village, for the report of a pedestrian struck.

A water delivery truck turning left from Fellowship Circle towards Odendhal Ave., struck a 75-year-old male crossing Asbury Rd.  The driver of the water truck remained on scene.

This is an active and ongoing investigation.  Anyone with information regarding this collision is asked to contact CRU detectives at 240-773-6620.

The name of the deceased will be released following proper notification of family.
