Montgomery County Police Shoot and Kill Man Who Fired on Officers During Traffic Stop

Montgomery County Police Chief Marcus Jones briefed the media regarding a man who was shot and killed by police after firing at them during a traffic stop.

According to Jones, officers conducted a traffic stop near Wayne Ave and Dartmouth St on a white Mercedes Benz that was suspected to have been involved in a shooting that occurred around 4am this morning on Bonifant St.

The individual exited the vehicle with a handgun and began firing upon the officers. Officers returned fire and the individual who was shooting at the officers was struck and has died from his injuries.

None of the officers involved were injured and all have been placed on administrative leave, pending the outcome of the investigation.
