Montgomery Village Hosting Several Fourth of July Events

Montgomery Village will be holding several events over the Fourth of July weekend, starting with a 5K race and concert by In Too Deep on July 4th.

July 5th they will hold their annual Fourth of July Festival at Apple Ridge Recreation Area (10101 Apple Ridge Road) that will include pony rides, axe throwing, carnival rides, and food trucks.

Are you ready for the first great event of the summer? Montgomery Village Foundation is hosting our annual July 4th Celebration, and you’re invited! Join the Montgomery Village community in celebration of America’s birthday! Activities are scheduled on both Sunday, July 4 and Monday, July 5 for all to enjoy.

Start the holiday weekend with the 5K Race/Fun Run at Lake Marion Community Center, 8821 East Village Avenue. This fun 5K through East Village and around Lake Marion is the perfect way to get your heart rate up for the festivities to come! Register by Tuesday, June 29 to secure your spot and get your race t-shirt!

After celebrating your own way with friends, family or neighbors, at a BBQ or at the pools, cap off the evening with free, live music from In Too Deep, Baltimore’s great pop-rock band! Bring your chair or blanket and your dancing shoes (or flip flops!) to the Bowie Music Pavilion in South Valley Park, 19003 Watkins Mill Road, for the concert to start your summer! In Too Deep plays from 7 to 8:30 p.m. – don’t miss out!

After you recover from running and dancing, head over to the Apple Ridge Recreation Area, 10101 Apple Ridge Road, on Monday, July 5 from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for a few hours of free family fun! While there will not be a parade this year, we are hosting the festival including rides, games, music and food!

Highlights include D & D Pony Rides and petting zoo, Axe Throw, BMX Slide, Ballistic Swing, 26’ Rock Wall, Four-way Inflatable Basketball Shootout, Field games and more. Food for sale will include Kona Ice, D’s Smokehouse and Pop-Up Poutine. The Back Pages Band (a July 4th Celebration staple) will provide live music as you enjoy the festivities.
