Moorenko’s is Coming to Montgomery Mall.

The ice cream shop will take over the large kiosk location that was previously home to Cookie Dough & Co. near the former Sears location on the lower level.

Moorenko’s started off and is still located in Downtown Silver Spring (8030B Georgia Avenue). Since then it has branched off to become available in various local markets across the DC Metro Area and opened a second shop in nearby Ellicott City.

Last summer they temporarily took over the old 16 Handles location in Rio.

This will now become their third official location. While it appears to be coming very soon, we don’t have a confirmed opening date yet.

Founder, Susan Soorenko says “We wanted to create an ice cream that would make people fall in love. My favorite thing is watching people taste our ice cream for the first time—when they stop whatever they’re doing to savor the experience.”
