Rockville City Police put out a message on social media warning the public of a new scam that’s occurring locally via phone that involves scammers posing as fire inspectors and indicating they will be performing inspections and collecting payment for violations on-site.

In December 2022, we let you know that Dunkin’ is continuing its massive expansion across the country and in MoCo, with an upcoming location coming to the Traville Village Center in Rockville. The store at 9761 Traville Gateway is now open (photos below).
March Madness took on a new dimension this year as 16 middle schools engaged in their own version of the tournament: March MATHness, MCPS announced in its staff bulletin. The initiative, designed to leverage the IXL platform for interactive learning, saw students compete in a friendly contest aimed at enhancing their math skills.
Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) released the following statement concerning the arrest of a student from Thomas S. Wootton High School in Rockville:
Five MCPS graduating seniors have received 2024 Amazon Future Engineer Scholarships worth up to $40,000 over four years to pursue a degree in computer science or engineering, according to MCPS. The students will also receive a paid internship after their freshman year to gain practical work experience with mentorship from Amazon leaders.

Pike’s Peek, one of Montgomery County Road Runners Club’s premier racing events, takes place this Sunday, April 21st. Roberto Clemente Middle School in Germantown is one of many MCPS schools that recently held (or soon will hold) some form of a Career Day. During the RCMS College and Career Community Day on Thursday, April 11, school leaders dedicated the entire school day to college and career readiness activities to educate and inspire students about their futures. The event included The MoCoShow’s “Mr. MoCo” as a guest speaker.
