Poolesville Woman Dies After Incident Involving Hotel Window in Florida

22-year-old Sydney Therriault, who was from Beallsville and lived in Poolesville, died in Grassy Key, Florida on Thursday, March 18.

The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, the primary law enforcement in the Florida Keys, wrote that Therriault was entering her hotel room at the Pelican RV Resort & Marina when she became stuck in a window and asphyxiated.

Monroe County Detectives believe she did not have a key with her so she attempted to climb into her room through the window, when it closed and trapped her. No foul play was suspected.

Sydney graduated from Poolesville High School in 2016, and studied painting at the Savannah College of Art and Design.
