Potomac Petals & Plants (former site of Behnke’s) is Closing
Potomac Petals & Plants, located at 9545 River Rd, announced on social media that they were currently running a store closing sale. The site of the nursery is going to be redeveloped into a senior community.
The owners of Potomac Petals & Plants tell us that their last day in business will be March 20th and that they are currently looking for a new location.
Behnke’s, the previous nursery at the location, closed in 2019 after 89 years.

A May 2020 article by Potomac Almanac stated that Spectrum Retirement Communities is planning to redevelop the site as a continuing care retirement community with up to 120 beds for independent and assisted living users.
