Rockville Metro Pedestrian Bridge to Reopen Monday

Per the City of Rockville

The pedestrian bridge linking Rockville Town Center and the Rockville Metro station over Rockville Pike will reopen on Monday, Aug. 16 following a 14-month closure and more than five months of repair work.

Metro closed the bridge on June 17, 2020, due to safety concerns.

Metro announced Friday that it had completed “all safety-necessary structural repairs.”

Meanwhile, bus stops are being relocated on the grounds of the Rockville station and staging activities are beginning ahead of repairs to canopies on the Rockville and Shady Grove Metro station platforms. The construction will close the Rockville and Shady Grove stations from Saturday, Sept. 11-Saturday, Dec. 4. The Rockville pedestrian bridge will be accessible during the canopy repairs to allow commuters to access bus stops.
