Sandy Spring Strawberry Festival Returns This Weekend for 40th Anniversary

Per the Sandy Spring Museum:
SANDY SPRING, MD – Sandy Spring Museum welcomes the community back on their grounds for a two-day summer celebration with neighbors, family and friends at the 40th Annual Strawberry Festival on June 11 – 12, 2022.

After a two-year hiatus, the annual festival is back and gearing up to be better than ever! Ever since the first festival in 1982, the event has served as a place of community gathering for generations, where attendees can spend their day enjoying live performances from multiple stages, pony rides, games and as much strawberry shortcake as their heart desires. The local family-favorite boasts something for everyone and welcomes individuals of all ages to partake in the festivities, from local craftspeople showcasing their unique creations to gardening booths and of course, delicious strawberries enjoyed in a variety of ways.

“We’re so excited to welcome everyone back. This event is part festival, part community reunion. It’s amazing that an event this large still feels like an old-fashioned, small-town party.” – Allison Weiss, Sandy Spring Museum, Executive Director

More than a community staple, the Annual Strawberry Festival serves as the largest fundraising event that the Museum holds. This year, in celebration of festival’s 40th Birthday, Sandy Spring Museum has the goal to raise $120,000 from the event in order to further the museum’s mission to gather community to build a sense of place and belonging. Strawberry Festival sponsors not only enhance the overall environment of the celebration but are also afforded the opportunity to interact with over 15,000 attendees from diverse backgrounds, while simultaneously aligning with and supporting the Maryland community. For more information on becoming a festival sponsor, contact Allison Weiss, Executive Director at [email protected].

The event is also seeking additional vendors and volunteers to make this year’s 40th Anniversary celebration one to remember! Vendors can apply for space on Sandy Spring Museum’s website and young volunteers can even earn Student Service Learning (SSL) hours for their participation.
