Several Gaithersburg Neighborhoods to Participate in National Night Out

Per the City of Gaithersburg:
Several Gaithersburg neighborhoods are joining communities across the country to participate in the Annual National Night Out (NNO) Against Crime campaign.

On Tuesday, August 2, these neighborhoods will hold events to increase drug prevention awareness, generate support for anti-crime programs, encourage residents to be involved in their communities, and send a message that neighborhoods and businesses are organized to fight back against crime. The NNO programs help bring together residents, law enforcement agencies, local officials, civic groups, and neighborhood organizations.

Participating neighborhoods include:

  • Bennington (6 – 8:30 p.m.)
    Large grassy area bordered by Longdraft Road, Wade Court, Oak Shade & East Darby Court. Family fun activities for all ages include games, giveaways, and more.
  • Brighton Village Apartment (6 – 8 p.m.)
    Social event near the playground at the pool house located at 347-353 West Side Drive.
  • Casey Community Center (6 – 8 p.m.)
    810 South Frederick Avenue. Activities of family fun, for all ages, will include music, craft activities, games, giveaways, and more. Register to attend here.
  • Kentlands/Lakelands (6 – 8 p.m.)
    485 Tschiffely Square Road
    Activities of family fun for all ages.
  • Montgomery Meadows (6 – 8 p.m.)
    Social event at the pavilion at Travis Park, 391 Travis Avenue.
  • Saybrooke (4 – 8 p.m.)
    Social event at the pool on Saybrooke Oaks Boulevard.

17th Annual Kensington Day of the Book Festival

Now in its 17th year, the Kensington Day of the Book Festival is a family-friendly street festival featuring 150+ renowned authors, poets, and literary organizations.
