Shady Grove Medical Center in Rockville Reaches Zero COVID-19 Patients

Per Adventist HealthCare:

ROCKVILLE, Maryland ― Adventist HealthCare Shady Grove Medical Center reached a milestone today in its COVID-19 journey: For the first time since March 17, 2020, the hospital had no COVID-19 patients admitted to its inpatient units.

Shady Grove Medical Center will mark the occasion with a luminaria ceremony for employees on Thursday, June 24, in its Healing Garden on the hospital’s campus. One luminary candle will be displayed for each of the 462 days that the hospital cared for a COVID-19 patient.

“This milestone represents the light at the end of the tunnel for our caregivers, who have worked tirelessly throughout the pandemic,” said Dan Cochran, President of Shady Grove Medical Center. “We look forward to honoring the dedication of our team members, reflecting upon the patients who have been in our care and marking this moment in our hospital’s history.”
