Shake Shack Confirms They Will Not Be Opening at Former Arby’s Location
Back in June, Washington Business Journal reported that Shake Shack would be renovating and taking over the former Arby’s location at 11710 Rockville Pike in Rockville.
Recently a “for lease” sign went up at the building which raised questions. This morning a representative from Shake Shack told us that they would no longer be opening a location at this spot.
According to WBJ, “the property has a 2021 assessed value of $1.9 million — the land is nearly three times as valuable as the existing building.”

Shake Shack is also taking over the former site of Poke Papa inside of the Montgomery Mall food court. This location is expected to be open by the end of the year.
The only other Shake Shack in Montgomery County is located two miles away at 7997 Tuckerman Ln in Potomac.
