Shooting in Rockville; One Male Victim Transported to Hospital

Update Per Rockville City Police 10/23/22 – 9:45 pm: On October 23, 2022 shortly before 6:00 p.m. the Rockville City Police Department responded to a shooting on the Unity Bridge in the 100 block of Frederick Ave. An adult male victim was located with a gunshot wound, he was transported to a local hospital where he is expected to survive.

The preliminary investigation has revealed the suspect in the shooting is an African American male wearing all black clothing and a black mask. The suspect left the area in a blue Mazda passenger car immediately following the incident.

6:34pm update: Rockville police reposted its update without using the words “non-life threatening.” 

Per Rockville City Police at 6:08pm: Police activity in the area of the 100 block of Frederick Ave near the Unity Bridge. Adult male victim with gunshot to leg, transported with non-life threatening injury. Active investigation, no additional information at this time.

Per our public safety reporter, Cordell Pugh at 6:06pm: ~5:40PM Sunday along Frederick Avenue near the railroad tracks/Unity Bridge and 7-Eleven, in Rockville, MD. Incident at least partially captured on CCTV 🎥. Victim transported to an area Trauma Center.
