Update Per Rockville City Police 10/23/22 – 9:45 pm: On October 23, 2022 shortly before 6:00 p.m. the Rockville City Police Department responded to a shooting on the Unity Bridge in the 100 block of Frederick Ave. An adult male victim was located with a gunshot wound, he was transported to a local hospital where he is expected to survive.
The preliminary investigation has revealed the suspect in the shooting is an African American male wearing all black clothing and a black mask. The suspect left the area in a blue Mazda passenger car immediately following the incident.
Anyone who has any information about this incident, or was in the area at the time of the shooting, is asked to contact the Rockville City Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Unit at 240-314-8938 or by emailing detectives@rockvillemd.gov.
6:34pm update: Rockville police reposted its update without using the words “non-life threatening.”
Per Rockville City Police at 6:08pm: Police activity in the area of the 100 block of Frederick Ave near the Unity Bridge. Adult male victim with gunshot to leg, transported with non-life threatening injury. Active investigation, no additional information at this time.
