Colesville Rd. between East West Highway and 16th St. in Silver Spring has partially reopened after a vehicle fire and fuel spill closed the road around 9am. Drivers are advised to seek an alternate route and to expect delays.
According to Chief Spokesperson for Montgomery County Fire and Rescue, a moving vehicle experienced a mechanical issue and caught fire.
The family inside the vehicle got out and there were no injuries reported. A second vehicle exposed to the incident caught on fire as well, as did leaking gasoline.
All fires are out and hazmat is currently on the scene.
We will post an update when more information becomes available.
