Gaithersburg, MD – Detectives from the Montgomery County Police – 3rd District Investigative Section have arrested and charged Dennis Adonay Guilez, age 19, with the September 14 first-degree burglary that occurred on Whitehall Dr.

On September 14, at approximately 2:44 p.m., 3rd District officers responded to the 1600 block of Whitehall Dr. for the report of a burglary that just occurred.

The 59-year-old victim stated that she was on the 3rd level of her residence when she observed an unknown individual exiting the front door of her residence in possession of a bag. The victim contacted the Emergency Communications Center (ECC) and provided a physical description of the suspect.

Officers arrived at the scene and observed signs of forced entry on one of the rear basement windows. Officers then located an individual who matched the suspect’s description laying down in the wooded area behind the residence. When approached by officers, the individual fled the scene on foot, but he was apprehended a short distance from Stewart Lane. Officers identified the individual as Dennis Adonay Guilez. Officers then confirmed that Guilez was the individual who had forcibly entered the residence.

Detectives retraced the pursuit path and recovered a knife and a hammer in the wooded area where Guilez was found by officers.

Guilez was arrested and transported to the 3rd District Police Station, where he was interviewed by detectives. During the interview, Guilez made statements acknowledging his involvement in this incident.

Guilez was transported to the Central Processing Unit and charged with first-degree burglary, fourth-degree burglary and malicious destruction of property. He is being held without bond.
