The MoCoShow MCPS High School Football Top 10 – Week 8

1. Quince Orchard 8-0 (LW 1)

The Cougars overcame a rocky start to dispatch rival Northwest 41-6. RB Iverson Howard ran for 85 yards on 10 attempts and 1 TD.  With the victory Quince Orchard clinched the #1 seed in the 4A West Region.  They will travel to Clarksburg on Friday to close out the regular season.

2. Damascus 7-1 (LW 2)

The Swarmin’ Hornets shutout Springbrook 42-0.  Huge playoff seeding implications are on the line this Friday as Seneca Valley visits the Hornets Nest in the MoCoShow Game of the Week!   

3. Seneca Valley 6-2  (LW 6) 

The Screamin’ Eagles defeated Walter Johnson 41-20.  As a team Seneca threw for 234 yards and 3 TDs.  A potential #2 seed in 4A/3A West is on the line for SV as they travel to Damascus in the MoCoShow Game of the Week!     

4. Walter Johnson 6-2  (LW 3) 

The Wildcats fell to Seneca Valley 41-20.  QB Charlie Blessing threw for 203 yards and 1 TD in the loss. A possible #2 seed is on the line for WJ as they host Wootton Friday night.   

5. Northwest 3-5 * (LW 5) 

The Jaguars lost to rival Quince Orchard 41-6. As a team NW passed for 133 yards in the defeat. Northwest will host Whitman to close out the regular season.  

6. Sherwood 6-2 (LW 7) 

The Warriors survived a late comeback by Paint Branch winning 45-32. QB Amari Allen threw for 241 yards and 2 TDs in the win. The #1 seed in 4A/3A South is on the line this Friday as Sherwood hosts rival Magruder.   

7. Blair  7-1 (LW 8) 

The Blazers beat Wheaton 41-8. QB Kendell Anderson had 199 yards of total offense and 3 TDs in the victory.  With the win Blair clinched the #1 seed in 4A North.  They will host BCC in the season finale.    

8. Paint Branch 5-3 (LW 4)

The Panthers fell to Sherwood 45-32. RB Roman Spikes rushed for 74 yards and 2 TDs in the loss.  Despite falling short, Paint Branch clinched the #2 seed in 4A North.  They will travel to Watkins Mill to close out the regular season.     

9. Blake 5-3 (LW 9)

The Bengals defeated Einstein 28-18.  RB Jeremiah Seaton ran for 250 yards and 3 TDs in the win. QB Joey Faunteroy threw for 202 yards and 4TDs in the victory.  Blake will travel to Springbrook in the season finale.   

10.  Churchill 6-2 (LW 10)

The Bulldogs defeated Richard Montgomery 34-24.  Churchill will host Gaithersburg to close out the regular season.
