The MoCoShow MCPS High School Football Week 9 Preview & Predictions

Manchester Valley (4-4) at Poolesville (7-1) – The Falcons overcame the injury bug to stage a 2nd half comeback to beat Kennedy 13-12. RB Tyler Shefter rushed for 99 yards and 1 TD in the win. The win pretty much locks Poolesville in as the #1 seed in the 2A West region.  Manchester Valley of Carroll County visits to close out the season.  Prediction: Manchester Valley by 8       

Einstein (2-6) at Northwood (0-8)   The Titans lost to Blake 28-18. As a team Einstein rushed for 159 yards and 2 TDs.  The Gladiators lost to Rockville 38-6. Prediction: Einstein by 35   

Kennedy (3-5) at Wheaton (1-7)  The Cavaliers hung tough vs Poolesville but fell 13-12. The Knights lost to Blair 41-8. The Rumble on Randolph Road is on tap in the season finale. Prediction: Kennedy by 14

Whitman (0-8) at Northwest (3-5) * – The Vikings lost to BCC 41-6. TE Laird Ostien caught 6 passes for 106 yards and 1 TD in the loss. Northwest fought hard for a half before falling to Quince Orchard 41-6. As a team NW passed for 133 yards.. Prediction: Northwest by 42

Quince Orchard (8-0) at Clarksburg (0-8) – The Cougars beat rival Northwest 41-6. RB Iverson Howard ran for 136 yards and 1 TD. With the win QO locked up the #1 seed in 4A West. The Coyotes lost to Gaithersburg 45-0. Prediction: Quince Orchard by 46  

Blake (5-3) at Springbrook (3-5) – The Bengals beat Einstein 28-18. RB Jerimiah Seaton ran for 250 yards and 3TDs. The Blue Devils lost to Damascus 42-0 Prediction: Blake by 20

Gaithersburg (3-5)* at Churchill (6-2) – The Trojans beat Clarksburg 45-0. RB Gideon Ituka rushed for 147 yards and 3 TDs.  The Bulldogs beat Richard Montgomery 34-24. Prediction: Churchill by 2

Wootton (3-5) at Walter Johnson (6-2) – The Patriots beat Catonsville 21-14. As a team Wootton passed for 175 yards and 1 TD. The Wildcats lost to Seneca Valley 41-20. QB Charlie Blessing passed for 203 yards and 1 TD in the loss. Prediction: Walter Johnson by 27 

Magruder (5-3) at Sherwood (6-2) – The Colonels beat Watkins Mill 9-3. RB Greg Lemus ran for 60 yards and 1 TD in the victory. The Warriors beat Paint Branch 45-32. QB Amari Allen passed for 241 yards and 2 TDs. The #1 seed in 4A-3A South is on the line as these two rivals meet in Olney Friday night. Prediction: Sherwood by 22

Richard Montgomery (3-5) at Rockville (4-4) – The Rockets fell to Chruchill 34-24. The Rams beat Northwood 38-6.  These two rivals will fight for Rockville supremacy on Friday night. Prediction: Richard Montgomery by 7 

BCC (4-4) at Blair (7-1) – The Barons beat Whitman 41-6. QB Carson Griffey had 160 yards of total offense and 2 TDs. The Blazers beat Wheaton 41-8. With the win Blair clinched the #1 seed in 4A North. QB Kendell Anderson had 199 yards of total offense and 3 TDs. Prediction: Blair by 10

Paint Branch (5-3) at Watkins Mill (0-8) – The Panthers lost to Sherwood 45-32. QB Christopher Kriz passed for 121 yards and 1 TD in the loss. The Wolverines lost to Magruder 9-3. As a team Watkins Mill rushed for 94 yards. Prediction: Paint Branch by 40
