(7) Gaithersburg at (3) Churchill – The Trojans upset Walter Johnson last week 44-28. As a team Gaithersburg rushed for 277 yards and 6 TDs. The Bulldogs outlasted Richard Montgomery 34-21. These two squads rematch in Potomac Friday night. Prediction: Gaithersburg by 4

(4) Einstein at (1) Blair – .The Titans beat Bladensburg last week 54-24. The Blazers had a bye. Another downcounty rematch at the Inferno this Friday. Prediction: Blair by 26

(3) Laurel at (2) Paint Branch – .The Panthers shutout Wheaton in the 1st round 52-0.  QB Christopher Kriz passed for 146 yards and 3 TDs in the win. The Spartans of Laurel in PG County visit Burtonsville in the 2nd round. Prediction: Paint Branch by 14

(3) Seneca Valley at (2) Howard – The Screaming Eagles beat Thomas Johnson 43-7 last week. They will travel to Howard County in the 2nd round to take on the Howard Lions. Prediction: Seneca Valley by 22

4A/3A South

(5) Springbrook at (1) Sherwood – The Blue Devils beat Kennedy 34-6. RB Christian Traylor rushed for 214 yards and 2 TDs in the win. The Warriors shutout Northwood 42-0. WR Julien Sanchez had 2 receptions for 28 yards and  2 TDs. These teams will clash in Olney this Friday. Prediction: Sherwood by 22

(6) Wootton at (2) Blake – The Patriots upset Magruder 13-7 in the 1st round. As a team Wootton rushed for 78 yards and 1 TD. The Bengals beat Whitman 47-14. RB Jeremiah Seaton accounted for 4 total TDs in the victory. These squads will tangle in Colesville Friday night in the 2nd round. Prediction: Blake by 21

(5) Linganore at (1) Damascus – The Swarming Hornets had a bye in the 1st round. They will host the Lancers of Linganore in Frederick County this Friday in a classic matchup of traditional Maryland powerhouses. Prediction: Linganore by 7
