Gift and food vendors, photo opportunities, pet services, crafts, and more! Free admission!

Enjoy the glow at Garden of Lights(opens in a new tab) this weekend. Brookside Gardens invites you to stroll and take in its winter light show featuring hand crafted light displays with more than one million lights. Open this Friday, December 2, to Sunday, December 4, from 5:30 pm to 9:30 pm nightly. Advance tickets for ages five and older are required.

Nature: How do animals thrive and survive the cold months? Learn through self-guided activities and programs at Locust Grove Nature Center during Animals in Winter(opens in a new tab) this Friday, December 2, to Sunday, December 4, from 1 pm to 5 pm daily.

Brookside Nature Center is a hive of activity at Honeybee 101(opens in a new tab) on Saturday, December 3, 2 pm to 3 pm. Montgomery County Beekeepers Association members are buzzing to answer your questions about the insect. So, swarm by.

Introduce the kids to the joys of watching and learning about our feathered friends at Birding for the Family(opens in a new tab) on Saturday, December 3, 10 am to noon, at Black Hill Visitor Center. Start at the feeding stations, walk to the bird blind to observe waterfowl on the lake, then make a bird treat to take home.

Volunteering: Give back this holiday season and help remove invasive, nonnative plants to create healthier environments for native plants to grow in our parks. Weed Warriors has events in four parks this weekend.
