Three MoCo Restaurants Make it to Eater DC’s ‘Hottest New Brunches to Try Around DC’ List

by MCS Staff

Three MoCo restaurants have made it onto Eater DC’s “Hottest New Brunches to Try Around D.C.” list that includes some of the most popular new restaurants that offer “D.C.’s most cherished meal.” The restaurants are listed geographically, which puts the three Montgomery County restaurants in the top 3 spots.

Listed first is Melina in Pike & Rose:

Bethesda’s splashy Greek gem whips up a kaleidoscope of fresh flavors for weekend brunches, all brought down to earth with tangy Greek cheeses and housemade breads. A table-pleasing mezze plate including smoked salmon, soft-boiled organic eggs, sourdough koulouri bread, tarama cream, and smoked trout roe is an irreproachable place to begin. Brunch is served from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.

Second on the list is Hello Betty, also found in Pike & Rose:

California-cool Hello Betty anchors Bethesda’s weekends with horchata pancakes; pork belly chilaquiles; and breakfast tostados topped with eggs, turkey chorizo, and queso fresco. Plus, the mumbo fried chicken sandwich turns up the charm for brunch with a fried egg on top. Brunch runs Saturdays and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Third on the list is Butter Me Up, which recently opened in Montgomery Mall:

Butter Me Up, the breakfast sandwich pop-up that operated out of Shaw’s HalfSmoke during the pandemic, now has a Bethesda, Md. location to call its own. Its first brick-and-mortar home in Westfield Montgomery Mall offers an all-day brunch menu every day of the week starting at 8 a.m. (eggy sandwiches, acai bowls, toasts, sides, cinnamon sugar French Toast sticks, bloody marys, and mimosas). Dishes are available for in-house dining, carryout, and delivery.
