Forever 21, the “fast fashion” retailer known for its trendy offerings and low pricing, filed for bankruptcy over the weekend.
Yesterday they released a list of about 1/3 of their almost 550 stores that could potentially close as part of bankruptcy proceedings, according to CNBC.
Three of four MoCo locations were on the list, including Ellsworth Place, Montgomery Mall, and Wheaton Mall. Conspicuous by its absence is the Lakeforest Mall location, which may eventually have no choice but to close depending on WRS inc.’s future plans for the struggling mall.
According to CNBC, “liquidation sales are expected to be completed by the end of the year at the sites selected to be vacated” if no further deals are reached.
