Town of Kensington Election to Take Place on June 6; Candidate Forum on May 23

The Town of Kensington election will be held on Monday, June 6, 2022, 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm, at the Kensington Town Hall (3710 Mitchell Street). The term of Mayor Tracey Furman and Council Members Bridget Hill-Zayat and Nate Engle are set to expire June 30, 2022. Absentee Ballots will be made available to any registered voter that is unable to vote in person by completing the Absentee Ballot application, and returning it to Susan Engels, Clerk-Treasurer, at the following email: [email protected]. An Absentee Ballot application will be mailed to every registered voter within the Town. If you have not received the Absentee Ballot application, please contact Susan Engels at the above email.

Candidate Forum

The Candidate Forum will be held on Monday, May 23, 2022, 7:00 pm, at the Kensington Town Hall. The Candidate Forum will also be available to view on Zoom. Please email Alex Marini, [email protected], for the Zoom link.

The Candidate Forum will be moderated by Rob Sachs. The moderator will be accepting questions in advance of the Candidate Forum and must be submitted by 4:00 pm on Friday, May 20, to the following email: [email protected]. We ask that questions be addressed to all candidates and not specific individuals. There will also be an opportunity to ask questions in person and through the Zoom Chat feature following the initial question and answer session by the moderator.

Please note that a recording of the Candidate Forum will be posted to the Town’s website by 4:00 pm on Tuesday, May 24, for residents and non-residents interested in viewing.

Lichter are running for two council seats.If you are registered with the Montgomery County Board of Elections, you are registered to vote with the Town of Kensington.
