Two 17-Year-Olds Charged in August Silver Spring Armed Carjacking

Gaithersburg, MD – Detectives from the Montgomery County Police – 3rd District Investigative Section have arrested and charged Tyler Scott, age 17, and Christopher Harris, age 17, as adults with the August 5 armed carjacking that occurred on Wayne Avenue in Silver Spring.
The investigation by detectives determined that at approximately 10 p.m. on August 5, the victim was approached by two subjects, one of whom was armed with a handgun. The subjects demanded multiple items from the victim. The subjects then fled in the victim’s vehicle.
Investigators obtained an arrest warrant for Scott and Harris charging them with armed robbery, armed carjacking and auto theft. Scott and Harris were arrested at their homes yesterday (Wednesday, September 8) and then transported to the Central Processing Unit, where they are being held without bond.
