Two MCPS Graduates Start ‘Brothers With Books’

by MCS Staff
Kevin Isabelle-Peete is a 2013 graduate of Northwest High School. He’s currently at Towson University studying Elementary and Special Education.

Isaac Cudjoe graduates from Seneca Valley in 2012. He has a masters in Conflict Resolution and Coexistence from Brandeis University.

Together these two young men have started Brothers With Books. Kevin and Isaac noticed that students aren’t reading as much as they should, so they wanted to make sure that students had adequate access to books.

“Literacy is essential in growth and development” said Kevin. “Books are a great way to start. For me, reading always had an assignment attached to it. With our books, there are no restraints. It allows students to look at books from a new perspective.”

Kevin and Isaac are currently collecting books and accepting donations. Though they primarily serve Montgomery County, they’re giving away books as far away as Baltimore. This month they have 472 books ready to give away!
