Montgomery County Fire and Rescue responded to a fire at the Diamond Auto Clinic located at 110 E Diamond Ave in Gaithersburg around 6pm on Saturday, April 16.
According to Chief Spokesperson for MCFRS, an employee was closing the shop for night, heard a ‘pop’ and saw a fire in the rear of the building.
The cause of the fire is undetermined and currently under investigation.
Damages are estimated to be close to $1.5 million ($1M building/$500K contents). The building was ruled as a total loss.
Nearby buildings were evacuated and there we no injuries reported.
Around 85 firefighters responded to the scene.
