Were You Recently Tested for COVID at a MoCo Site? You May Need Retesting.

Yesterday, it was announced that residents who used an AdvaGenix COVID test at a Montgomery County site within the past two weeks ought to be retested. AdvaGenix kits were primarily used for asymptomatic individuals and were self-administered tests.  According to a press release, approximately 8% of COVID tests used throughout the county were processed by AdvaGenix.

Montgomery County’s testing partnership with AdvaGenix has been suspended for the moment. Residents who have upcoming appointments at a site that planned to use AdvaGenix kits are being notified and will be alerted of alternative locations to take their test.

According to the press release, Montgomery County currently offers 30 testing sites that do not use AdvaGenix kits. These locations can be found here: https://coronavirus.maryland.gov/pages/symptoms-testing#siteapp
