Westwood Pet Center in Bethesda Closing After 42 Years

Bethesda Beat reported this morning that Westwood Pet Center at 5428 Westbard Ave in Bethesda will
be closing its doors on June 30 after 42 years in business.

According to the Bethesda Beat article, “the COVID-19 pandemic reducing store traffic, the redevelopment of Westwood Shopping Center, and being ready for retirement” were the reasons for closing cited by the owner.

The store was able to shift its business to online ordering and curbside pickup during the pandemic to survive but ultimately decided not to renew their lease.
