Wheaton Volunteer Rescue Squad Resumes Room Rentals

by Cordell Pugh

Beginning June 1, 2021, the Wheaton Volunteer Rescue Squad will resume hosting event rentals. According to a written statement posted on the Squad’s website, “Renters will be required to comply with all Montgomery County Government (MCG) public health guidelines.”

More information about Ballroom, Conference Room, and Multipurpose Room Rentals is available on the Squad’s website.

The Wheaton Volunteer Rescue Squad responded to more than 10,000 emergency calls in 2020, and their volunteers  volunteered over 90,000 hours of service.

Room rentals and other fundraising sources help pay for critical needs such as specialized equipment, volunteer training, ambulance and rescue vehicle maintenance, and fire station upgrades.

Public tours of the Wheaton Volunteer Rescue Squad’s station remain suspended until further notice. When possible, the Rescue Squad says they will park their vehicles to the public outdoors in front of their building. Blood Pressure screenings and other assistance remain available in the Wheaton Volunteer Rescue Squad’s front lobby.
