White Oak Bowling Lanes to Reopen

White Oak Bowling Lanes at 11207 New Hampshire Ave, which opened in 1959, has announced plans to reopen after the business closed due to flooding and a subsequent dispute with the building’s landlord back in September 2021. The bowling alley is hoping to be opened by September 1, 2023 and will have new lanes, approaches, and pin decks. White Oak Bowling Lanes released the following message on February 27:

“Good afternoon,
The long awaited update…
First, I want to start off giving a huge thanks to all who donated, called, checked in, and everyone who continued to have us in their thoughts. This has been an EXTREMELY tough time for everyone involved. We could not even be here to provide this update without each of you. Navigating through this took a huge toll on our mental health to the point where we “unplugged” from social media and socially in generally. Between that and having to keep everything between the parties involved quiet, I hope you all understand and forgive us for being absent on our fb page. I know it hasn’t been easy on any of you either so another huge thank you for all that has stuck with us. Sorry for the teaser 😉 on Friday but nothing was official so I had to leave it at that for the time being until things were finalized. With that being said, I am happy/excited to clarify that the sun is rising in that picture! WHITE OAK LANES WILL BE BACK!! However, things will look a little different when we open.

As you are probably aware, White Oak Lanes experienced a really bad flooding incident back in September of 2021. This incident caused substantial damage to our lanes. Even though we are going to be sad to see the old lanes leave, we will definitely be excited to see the new lanes when they are completed! When you come back, White Oak will have new lanes, approaches, and pin decks! Hope everyone is as excited about that as we are! We will be providing pictures as this happens for anyone who may be interested in that like we are 🤓. Will be super cool to watch them go up.

Now the question I’m sure is being thought about is, when will we open? As I’m sure everyone is aware of how much work this will be, it will take some time. We are hoping to be opened by September 1st! There will be many other changes that occur as well but you will have to come see for yourself when we reopen😉. We can’t wait to open those doors again and to see all who have made White Oak Lanes what it is even today! So bye for now as we “get the ball rolling 🎳.”
