Winning Powerball Numbers Announced for Record Setting Jackpot After 10-Hour Delay

by Patrick Herron

After a 10-hour delay, the winning numbers from last night’s historic Powerball drawing have been announced. The numbers are 10 33 41 47 56 and Powerball 10. The jackpot for the drawing was an estimated $1.9 billion with a cash option of $929.1 million. It has not been announced if anyone matched all six numbers. The Maryland Lottery had released a statement earlier this morning saying, “Monday night’s Powerball and Double Play drawings were delayed as one of the 48 participating lotteries worked to finalize its sales results. Powerball tickets are sold in 45 states, as well as Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. The game is operated under strict protocols that require all 48 lotteries to finish processing their sales results and report the data before the drawings can occur. The Maryland Lottery is not the source of the delay.”

Monday night update: Technical difficulties have delayed tonight’s record $1.9 billion dollar Powerball drawing.  The drawing was scheduled to take place at 10:59pm on Monday, November 7. According to the California Lottery, “tonight’s Powerball® drawing has been delayed due to a participating lottery needing extra time to complete the required security protocols. Powerball has strict security requirements that must be met by all 48 lotteries before a drawing can occur. When the required security protocols are complete, the drawing will be performed under the supervision of lottery security officials and independent auditors. Winning numbers will be posted as soon as they are available. Thank you for your patience.”
