Winter Weather Advisory in Effect From 4pm today Until 10am Tomorrow

This evening’s commute will likely be affected by wintry weather as we expect a mix of precipitation to enter the area later today.

Precipitation is likely to start as rain before it begins to mix with freezing rain and/or sleet between 3pm-6pm today. Frozen precipitation could continue overnight into Tuesday morning, causing some issues tomorrow morning.

As always, the rain/snow line will play a big factor in who gets what.

According to most forecasts, N MoCo should get more wintry precipitation than S MoCo.

Here’s what the major networks have to say:

Fox 5 has half of MoCo in the 1-2” range with the other half in the “freezing rain possible” zone.

NBC4 has almost all of MoCo in the 1-2” range with Upper MoCo in the 2-4” range.

ABC 7 has all of MoCo in the “Freezing Rain & Rain” zone.

WUSA9 released the advisory map that states MoCo could get “up to 2” of snow and .2” of ice.”
