Winter Weather Advisory Now in Effect Until 1pm in Upper MoCo

The Winter Weather Advisory has been extended until 1pm for Upper Montgomery County (Germantown, Clarksburg, Damascus, Poolesville, etc.).

Temperatures have gone a or freezing in most Central/SE MoCo locations, but will take a little longer to get there in upper Montgomery county, so the National Weather Service has extended the advisory.

Per the NWS:

WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 1 PM EST THIS AFTERNOON…

* WHAT…Freezing rain. Additional ice accumulations of a light glaze.

* WHERE…Portions of central, north central and northern Maryland and northern Virginia.

* WHEN…Until 1 PM EST this afternoon.

* IMPACTS…Very slippery sidewalks, roads and bridges are possible.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

Slow down and use caution while traveling. Prepare for possible power outages.

When venturing outside, watch your first few steps taken on steps, sidewalks, and driveways, which could be icy and slippery, increasing your risk of a fall and injury.
