Update: Off-Duty Officer Rescues Woman and Teen From Vehicle Fire on Montgomery Avenue and East West Highway in Bethesda
Chief Spokesperson for Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Pete Piringer reports that just before 7pm on Tuesday evening, MCFRS were notified that a vehicle had collided with a tree on Montgomery Avenue and East West Highway and that the vehicle was on fire.
The driver was an adult female and there was a teenaged passenger in the vehicle as well.
An off-duty MCPD Officer was first on the scene and was able to put the engine fire out with a fire extinguisher and remove both individuals after cutting them out of their seatbelts. Both were transported to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
