Life shouldn’t be about views, likes, and shares, but this article will be as we take a look at the upcoming restaurants that have created the most buzz on our website and associated social media accounts.

A couple weeks back we created a list of all the upcoming restaurant openings in the county, but today we’re going to highlight the ten that have generated the most buzz in terms of views, likes, and shares.

Federal Realty has announced that Melina, a new full-service, fine casual Greek restaurant by the founders of Cava, Cava Mezze, and Julii, will open on Monday, November 22, 2021 at 905 Rose Avenue in North Bethesda’s Pike & Rose neighborhood.

Founded by Cava partners Ted Xenohristos, Dimitri Moshovitis, and Ike Grigoropoulos, the 3,593-square-foot establishment is the team’s second restaurant at Pike & Rose. Named after Dimitri’s daughter, Melina is located on the street level of 909 Rose near the group’s French concept, Julii, which opened in 2018.

In August we let you know Èkó House would be coming to the space formerly occupied by Bar Louie at 150 Gibbs St. in Rockville Town Square.

Underground Pizza Company is coming to 8235 Georgia Ave in Silver Spring (formerly Olazzo) later this year. Owner Evan Weinstein, a concert promoter and founder of Steez Promo, started Underground Pizza Company (UPC) last year after concert venues in the area closed their doors due to the pandemic.

Underground Pizza started selling their Detroit-style pizzas at local “pop-up” events that were marketed through social media. Costumers would pre-order pizzas and then meet at a designated location at specific times to pick up their order.

Back in January we told you that Planta, an upscale plant-based restaurant featuring a menu by Chef David Lee, will be coming to 4910 Elm St at Bethesda Row, in the location formerly occupied by Cafe Deluxe (Cafe Deluxe closed permanently back in March of last year).

In July Planta let us now that they were aiming for a fall opening after originally hoping to open in the summer.
