Mental Health on My Block: FREE Counseling & Resource Event for MoCo Residents

The African American Health Programs (AAHP) Targeted COVID-19 Response Program, implemented by the National Center for Children and Families has partnered with Hearts In Mind Counseling to provide FREE mental health counseling to African American and Black residents of Montgomery County, Maryland. So please join our “Mental Health on My Block” event hosted by radio and tv personality Joe Clair who will engage families, individuals, and youth in dialogue on mental well-being. Additionally, the community initiative will feature informative panel discussions, fun activities, COVID-19 testing, a mental health resource fair, food, and live music by 93.9 FM WKYS.


A new fire pit has been added to Gaithersburg Square as part of the $6.6 million dollar renovations of the center. The fire pit, which is not yet active, is located in front of the former Chuck E. Cheese location.

“Coming Soon” signage is also up for &pizza at the center. The restaurant will be located next to Quickway Japanese Hibachi and Chipotle.


9/30 Update: The cause of yesterday’s fire at a home on Danville Dr. in Rockville was a combustible too close to a heat source (light bulb) on the rear deck of the home.

85 MCFRS firefighters responded to the call. Damages are estimated to be around $350,000.


Music: The free event celebrates local music with 18 performances on 3 stages, with a mix of soul, funk, roots rock, blues, swing, drumming, folk, and more. From award-winning performers to emerging artists, there is something for everyone! For the entire line up MUSIC.
