The Lab – Elite Player Development is the DMV premier girls-only basketball program, designed to build confidence, skilled, and empowered athletes from the ground up. Lafayette Federal Credit Union is inviting local residents to safely dispose of personal documents at its upcoming Community Shred Day, held at the Kensington Financial Service Center on Saturday, June 7th from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (or until the shred truck reaches capacity).

Community Shred Day is free and open to the public, offering a secure, convenient way to shred sensitive documents such as old bills, tax forms, and other paperwork that could put individuals at risk of identity theft if improperly discarded.


Germantown, MD — Romance is hitting the streets of Montgomery County with L’Amour en Route, a brand-new mobile bookshop from local small business Romantique Books. Romantique Books has operated exclusively online, until now. Specializing in curated romance novels and bookish gifts, this pink, heart-adorned cart is the first of its kind in the area, bringing swoon-worthy stories directly to readers at markets, pop-ups, and community events.

Founder Jeanette Thompson describes the project as “a love letter on wheels,” designed to make romance literature more accessible and fun. With signature touches like string lights, cozy vibes, and handpicked titles, L’Amour en Route is already generating buzz ahead of its anticipated debut later this summer.
